In less than a year there have been sixty two TSA screeners charged with serious crimes including ten for child sex crimes, four for smuggling and one for murder. They allow 60% of cargo to go unchecked and fail 70% of GAO security tests. There are too many incidents where passengers have been sexually assaulted, strip searched, robbed and humiliated for anyone to defend this agency. I even got nice treatment the one time I accidentally left my little pink pocket knife in my purse, the agent even suggested a local place she knew of where I could replace it for cheaper than the $11 they charge for postage home (otherwise they trash it).
