Greater union disabled access – not so much

Just got to Melbourne, (left at 520am) finally found cinema. A greater union hosting Melbourne film festival events. Cinema in question up EPIC flight of stairs. It has NO wheelchair access. Many freaked out festival staff. Sent hubby and kids in, I’m sitting this one out it seems. Somewhat literally.

welcome to 4.30 am

we are driving to melboure to watch a chad morgan doco – then driving home again. life with my husband is a an endless series of magic adventures i would never otherwise have the bravery to contemplate – merely the wish:)

disability did not diminish my courage – merely forced its centre of focus to be so much smaller & immediate. sometimes, getting out of bed requires it all. sometimes, it is smiling at my children despite the pain. sometimes, it is being cheerful when i am not.

but here i am facing something big. and allowances being made for my issues, it is occuring anyway, allowing for them not ignorning them, but not being held back by them.

wow:)

Emacs Has Been Violating the GPL Since 2009 – Slashdot

Emacs, one of GNU’s flagship products and the most famous software creation of Richard Stallman, has been discovered to be violating the GPL since 2009-09-28 by distributing binaries that were missing source. The CEDET package, a set of contributed files for giving certain IDE functionality related to static code analysis, has distributed files generated from bison grammars without distributing the grammar itself. This happened for Emacs versions 23.2 and 23.3, released during late 2009, and has just been discovered.

The NGOs are talking about staggering figures. Two million children dying of hunger. Thirteen million affected. Children with flyblown lips and flyblown wounds and they’re dropping like flies.

The KKK kicked Butts, then Butts kicked back | Article | The Punch

Sometimes you can meet a person and feel blessed. I don’t mean touched by the hand of God. I just mean you feel renewed, restored and pretty sure there’s goodness in the world. And that, in itself, is a blessing.

The 10 faces of Doctor Who – Den of Geek

The Doctor is, without a doubt, one of the most complex characters on television. He is both comic and tragic, a king and a fool. It’s worth us, then, having a quick think about the many faces of this most unique of men.
