MEME. (pron. ‘meem’) A contagious idea that replicates like a virus…

…passed on from mind to mind.

At least one popular meme site, (oh, come on people, you know the one!), has decided to branch out: PENGUINS!!!!

funny pictures

Bonus points for those that know me irl, and why I would find this doubly amusing.

The tyranny of an object…

…he thought. It doesn’t know I exist.

Someone will have to get that quote. Please, tell me someone gets that quote?:) Anyway, it’s the day of the Android. And, personally, it is a sexy, sexy day. In a totally weird, geeky, excited by something shiny way. Yeah, I know. Look, I didn’t once say nerdgasm, did I?

;)

Anyway, to wrap so far:

Overview of Android. I found it totally interesting. Scoble didn’t.

Android site, including downloadable SDK.

Android Blog.

Android discussion group.

Announcement of a $10 million dollar prize for developers.

Discussions on Slashdot and Digg.

Endgadget has more commentary, and a Visual Tour of the UI.

OHADev is a resource, non Google site for Android developers.

I was right not to be afraid of any thief but myself…

…who will end by leaving me nothing.

This post on Violent Acres, an acerbic, acidic, cruelly, passionately, viciously, defiantly honest funny sad bittersweet blog, has struck a chord today.

I hate that. Of course I do. I don’t want to be told what I know, just when I don’t want to know. Not, by the way, that she intends telling anyone anything. She has dropped it onto us, to do what we will with. Or not. Just deal, she says. Or not. It isn’t for us that she writes.

The alternative quote for the title was:

The greatest hazard of all, losing one’s self, can occur very quietly in the world, as if it were nothing at all. No other loss can occur so quietly; any other loss – an arm, a leg, five dollars, a wife, etc. – is sure to be noticed.

Do it, and do it while you feed people. FreeRice is a word game that donates rice to the United Nations for every word you get right. So learn, and feed. Put your free time to good use!
