Glucophage (Metformin) is an oral diabetes medicine that helps control blood sugar levels. Glucophage is for people with type 2 diabetes. Glucophage is sometimes used in combination with insulin or other medications, but it is not for treating type 1 diabetes. Allopurinol is a purine analog; it is a structural isomer of hypoxanthine (a naturally occurring purine in the body) and is an inhibitor of the enzyme xanthine oxidase.[1] Xanthine oxidase is responsible for the successive oxidation of hypoxanthine and xanthine, resulting in the production of uric acid, the product of human purine metabolism.
Prevacid (Lansoprazole) belongs to a group of drugs called proton pump inhibitors. Prevacid decreases the amount of acid produced in the stomach. Prevacid is used to treat and prevent stomach and intestinal ulcers, erosive esophagitis (damage to the esophagus from stomach acid), and other conditions involving excessive stomach acid such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
